Although it makes a big difference how many visitors come to your website the real thing is your conversion rate: of all the visitors you get how many actually do business with you?
When you keep a track of your traffic and your actual business it is called conversion tracking.
Your conversion rate helps you track how much you are spending on PPC campaigns and other online advertisements and how much you are actually making.
For instance if you are using a particular landing page for your PPC campaign the amount of business you are doing through that campaign should justify the investment you’re making in the campaign.
With hundreds of campaigns running at the same time it often becomes difficult to track individual conversion rate without expert help.
Sometimes you get tons of traffic from various search engines but that traffic doesn’t convert well because maybe the right keywords are not being used while optimising your website or your website doesn’t have the right information and the visitors feel misled. Better conversion is a mixture of precise targeting and a perfect website.
